The Stockman's Breakfast is a regular educational event of the Douglas County Livestock Association. It is held 8 times each year on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from October through June. We skip December because of the Holidays, and we also take a break during the summer because folks are so busy with ranching activities.
The Stockman's Breakfast is held at Elmer's Restaurant, 1440 NW Mulholland in Roseburg. We meet in a private meeting room in the back of the restaurant. Meetings begin at 8:00 am (NEW TIME) and continue until 9:00 am, and we nearly always have a guest speaker who addresses topics that range from new drugs and nutrition to genetics and marketing and regulatory issues. In addition to excellent presentations and good conversations, we share information about markets and updates about upcoming events and other items of interest.
This Breakfast is open to everyone, and ranchers with all species of livestock are welcome. It is always announced in the DCLA Newsletter and also through an email announcement list.
This event used to be called the "Cattle Feeder's Breakfast," but we changed its name a few years ago. We recognized that this information is useful for all ranchers and agricultural personnel, and we want everyone to feel welcome, including folks who raise beef cows, sheep, goats, horses, and anyone else in the livestock industry.
