Predator Damage

Dear Landowners,

We are preparing for our sixth year of collecting revenue for the Predator Control in Douglas County.  In addition to funds collected through the district, the County will contribute as much financial support as possible, when funds are available.  So, it is vital for those of us in the District to contribute toward funding this program because it is important to our industry.  We have had to adjust rates going forward in order to keep the district financially viable.  Those rates are shown below.

The Advisory Board has adopted an application form for those who would like to join the District.  The form is also designed for those that wish to make changes, either by annexation of new or additional property, or would like to withdraw property presently in the District.  Property owners presently enrolled do not need to take action unless they are requesting changes to their current enrollment status.  Current District members will automatically be enrolled for the current fiscal year.  Property that is proposed for annexation or withdrawal must be in complete property tax lot(s).  Partial tax lot(s) are not acceptable, and cannot be considered because District Boundaries are defined by complete tax lots.  Also, please be advised, if you made the decision not to join in the past year and now wish to join, the Legislation (HB 3188) requires a payment of three time the acreage assessment you would have originally paid to join now.  If you are presently in the District, and wish to add additional property to the District, penalties do not apply.  The Advisory Board is aware that there are some property owners who are new to the area and may not have known about the District.  Also, some property owners may have been in contact with us but missed the dead line.  In these instances, the Advisory Board will judge whether the three times acreage rate fee can be waived, on a case-by-case basis.  A letter explaining the reason why you were not able to participate in the District must accompany the application.

You may print and complete the Predator Control District application and mail to:
